Kamasutra (saptamadhikaranam)

The aim of human life is attainment of the four purushartha (goals of life) namely dharma, artha, kama and moksha.  The fulfillment of first three is prerequisite for the ultimate aim of life, i.e. salvation or moksha.  The kama or desires of life need to be fulfilled in accordance with dharma and artha.  Since senses are difficult to control, the indulgence in sense organs should be done only in a proper way or else, they will take the indulger to doom.  So a proper understanding of proper means of sensual indulgences is necessary to direct the mind to moksa without it lingering for sensual objects.  Kamasutra of Vatsyayana is a highly famed collection of aphorisms which teaches these very things.  It is necessary for an Ayurveda physician to know these as it includes many psychological, physiological, social and philosophical aspects which are needed in many spheres of treatment like gynecology and andrology, vajeekarana (sexual medicine and infertility treatment), understanding of human psychology and mental diseases etc. This book only includes the seventh (last) adhikarana of Kamasutra which deals in vajeekarana.
